Recently, Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group in Nigeria, led a delegation to Beijing for strategic talks with the management of BAIC Foton. Chang Rui, General Manager of BAIC Group and Chairman of BAIC Foton; Lu Zhenghua, Executive Vice President of BAIC Foton; and Fu Jun, Vice President of Business Operations and President of the Overseas Business Division at BAIC Foton, were among the leaders who attended the talks. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on deepening strategic cooperation and advancing the green industrialisation process in Africa.
During the talks, Chang Rui extended a warm welcome to Mr Dangote and his delegation, and expressed his appreciation for the Dangote Group’s long-standing contributions to actively promoting industrialisation in Africa. Fu Jun provided a comprehensive overview of BAIC Foton’s development history, global footprint and latest achievements in the new energy sector. He stated that BAIC Foton remains steadfastly customer-centric, committed to providing global partners with high-quality products and full-lifecycle solutions. The company will spare no effort to ensure the smooth delivery of Dangote Group’s orders, supporting the client’s business development with outstanding products and services.
Aliko Dangote expressed high regard for BAIC Foton’s technical capabilities and global strategy in the field of new energy commercial vehicles. The two sides reached broad consensus on Africa’s sustainable development goals and energy transition strategy, and held in-depth discussions on potential future cooperation in areas such as joint ventures and the promotion of a full range of new energy products.
Following the talks, a vehicle handover ceremony was held, marking the entry of the partnership between BAIC Foton and the Dangote Group into a new phase. The logistics transport project covered by this agreement involves an order of over 1,000 units, comprising CNG tractor units and semi-trailers. This fleet will provide robust support for the Dangote Group’s logistics and transport requirements in Nigeria and across Africa, offering reliable transport capacity to underpin local infrastructure development and public welfare.
